HOW IT WORKS

What the Arabic Writing and Script Course Covers

The course covers the full range of Arabic script fundamentals: isolated letter formation, positional forms, stroke order, letter connections and the Lam-Alif ligature, diacritical marks including Harakat and Shaddah, and baseline alignment. Every lesson is delivered in English by tutors trained to teach Arabic script to non-native learners.

The course welcomes complete beginners with no prior exposure to Arabic letters, as well as learners who can read some Arabic and want clearer, more confident handwriting.

  • Letters and Strokes: All 28 letters formed with correct stroke order, proportion, and direction.
  • Connections, Dots, and Diacritics: Positional forms, joining rules, correct dot placement, and accurate placement of every vowel mark.
  • From Words to Sentences: Writing practice that moves from familiar words to legible sentences and short paragraphs.
WHY KALAMULLAH

What Makes This Arabic Script Writing Course Different

Anyone who wants to learn Arabic writing properly needs live correction. Kalamullah pairs every student with a tutor who corrects formation errors as they happen, not through a recorded video or a generic comment on a worksheet.

1. Tutors Trained to Teach Arabic Script

Kalamullah’s Arabic writing tutors hold verified credentials and are trained to teach script to learners from non-Arabic backgrounds. They know exactly where English speakers reverse stroke direction, confuse similar shapes, and lose baseline consistency, and correct those errors early.

02

2. Live One-on-One Sessions Focused on Individual Error Patterns

Every student's formation mistakes differ. One learner reverses the hook on Ayn; another struggles with consistent Qaf sizing. Live private sessions let Kalamullah's tutors identify each student's specific weaknesses and assign targeted drills, rather than repeating a fixed lesson sequence for everyone.

03

3. Female Tutors for Sisters and Young Learners

Kalamullah offers qualified female Arabic writing tutors for students who prefer to learn with a woman. Parents enrolling daughters in the Arabic Writing and Script Course can request a female teacher at any point, including before the free trial session begins.

04

4. Session Times Across Seven Days Weekly

Kalamullah schedules Arabic handwriting lessons seven days a week, including early mornings and evenings. Students in different time zones choose slots that work without rearranging existing commitments. Both intensive tracks of three to four sessions weekly and lighter one-session-weekly tracks are available.

05

5. Arabic Writing Practice Built Around Real Words

Students never copy letters in isolation. Each letter form is practiced inside real Arabic words, starting with simple, common vocabulary, so writing builds meaning and retention from the first lessons.

COURSE STRUCTURE

How This Learn Arabic Writing Course Is Built

Each session focuses on a specific skill stage, moving students from forming single letters to composing their own sentences in a clear, measurable sequence.

1

1. Students Learn Arabic Letter Formation and Stroke Sequence

Each session opens with tutor demonstration of the precise stroke order for the target letters. Students replicate the motion while the tutor watches and corrects direction, pressure, and proportion in real time.

Particular attention goes to letters that share one basic shape and differ only in their dots, such as Jeem (ج), Ḥa (ح), and Kha (خ), or Ba (ب), Ta (ت), and Tha (ث), and to strokes English speakers tend to start from the wrong side. Correct habits are set at the outset rather than fixed after weeks of repetition.

2

2. Mastery of Positional Variants Through Real Word Practice

Arabic letters change shape in initial, medial, final, and isolated positions. Students practice each positional form within actual vocabulary rather than abstract charts, so the variants become recognizable in context immediately.

Kalamullah's tutors introduce positional variants through word families so students see how the same letter shifts within related vocabulary. Pattern recognition replaces rote memorization of every possible combination.

3

3. Teaching Ligature Rules Through Connected Arabic Script Drills

Students learn which of the 28 Arabic letters connect to both neighbors and which connect only to the letter before them, along with the mandatory Lam-Alif ligature. Drills move from two-letter combinations to full words, with tutor correction on join angles and spacing.

Students learn which letters connect on both sides and which six letters — Alif (ا), Dal (د), Dhal (ذ), Ra (ر), Zay (ز), and Waw (و) — connect only to the letter before them, along with the mandatory Lam-Alif ligature (لا).

4

4. Placing Diacritical Marks Including Harakaat and Shaddah Accurately

Students first master dot placement, since a single misplaced dot changes the letter and the word. Harakat — Fathah, Kasrah, and Dammah — are then added alongside Sukoon, Shaddah, and Tanween in their correct positions above or below each letter.

Writing words fully vocalized strengthens reading at the same time, because students learn to see the sound of each word as they write it.

5

5. Writing Original Sentences

Students move from copying model text to writing their own sentences, using vocabulary practiced throughout the course. Along the way, students learn the core spelling rules every Arabic writer needs: Ta Marbuta (ة) versus Ta Maftuha (ت), Alif Maqsura (ى), and where Hamza sits (أ، إ، ؤ، ئ، ء).

Tasks grow from single sentences to short paragraphs, and the course ends when students can write legible, correctly connected Arabic independently.

What You’ll Achieve

What Students Gain Through the Arabic Writing and Script Course

Every outcome below describes a skill students can demonstrate after completing Kalamullah's Arabic Writing and Script Course, measured through tutor assessment at the end of each stage.

Correct Arabic Letter Formation

Students write all 28 Arabic letters using correct stroke order and proportions. Common formation errors among English speakers, including reversed hooks and collapsed letter heights, are identified and corrected through live tutor feedback in every Arabic writing practice session.

Positional Variant Recognition and Production

Students identify and write each Arabic letter in its initial, medial, final, and isolated forms within real words. They produce new vocabulary in written form immediately after learning to pronounce it, without needing to look up positional shapes separately.

Fluent Connected Arabic Handwriting

Students write full Arabic words and sentences with consistent letter connections and correct join angles. Handwriting speed increases without sacrificing legibility. Readers unfamiliar with the student's handwriting can read the output clearly without effort or guesswork.

Accurate Diacritical Mark Placement

Students place dots, Harakat, Shaddah, Sukoon, and Tanween in correct positions on vocalized texts.. They distinguish words that share the same letters through accurate placement of vowel marks, strengthening both writing and reading.

Right-to-Left Writing Fluency

Students write Arabic script from right to left without spatial confusion or baseline drift. Hand positioning, page orientation, and directional momentum are trained until the motion is automatic. Lines remain level and letter spacing stays consistent across full paragraphs of Arabic writing practice.

Independent Arabic Sentence Composition

Students generate original Arabic sentences and short paragraphs from memory, using vocabulary learned during the Arabic Writing and Script Course, without copying from a teacher-provided model. Written output combines correct script, accurate connections, and properly placed diacritics in a single legible piece.
