Kalamullah’s Intermediate Tajweed Course takes students beyond the basic rules into the derived types of Madd, the rules of Lam and Ra, Idgham between letters, and the Waqf symbols of the Mushaf. The goal is reciting longer Surahs beyond Juz Amma with consistent, accurate Tajweed.
6–9The Intermediate Tajweed Course covers five areas. Students study the main Makharij groups and the core Sifat of the letters, then the derived types of Madd: Muttasil, Munfasil, Lazim, ‘Arid lil-Sukun, Leen, and Badal.
They learn the rules of Lam, including Lam Shamsiyyah and Qamariyyah and the Lam of Allah’s name, along with the Tafkheem and Tarqeeq of Ra and Idgham between identical and similar letters. The course closes with the Waqf symbols of the Mushaf, all applied in recitation of Juz Tabarak and longer Surahs.
Many students know the basic rules but lose accuracy when the passage is new or long. Kalamullah's intermediate level focuses on exactly that problem, applying every rule in unfamiliar, longer passages until recitation stays correct everywhere.
Every Kalamullah Quran teacher holds a recognized Tajweed certification, and many hold an Ijazah with a connected chain. Credentials are verified before assignment, so every rule is modeled correctly and explained clearly.
At this level, the challenge is consistency. Kalamullah's teachers give students new passages in every session, so rules are applied by recognition rather than memory of a practiced Surah.
Every intermediate lesson at Kalamullah is private, so the teacher hears every Madd length, every Ra, and every Lam. Errors are corrected in the moment, before they spread across longer recitation.
Kalamullah provides qualified female Tajweed teachers for students who prefer or require a same-gender teacher. The preference is selected at registration and honored from the trial session onward, with no change to scheduling or lesson content.
Kalamullah's intermediate curriculum moves from Makharij to Madd, Lam and Ra, Idgham, and Waqf in a fixed order. No module is skipped, and each one is confirmed on an unseen passage before the student advances.

The course opens with the student reciting a passage they have not practiced. The teacher checks every basic rule and identifies where accuracy drops.
Any weak basic rules are reviewed first, so intermediate study builds on secure foundations.
Students study the five main Makharij areas (the oral cavity, throat, tongue, lips, and nasal passage) and the core Sifat that distinguish similar letters, such as Hams and Jahr, Shiddah and Rakhawah.
By the end of this module, students correct close-sounding letters consistently in longer passages.
The teacher introduces Madd Muttasil, Munfasil, Lazim, 'Arid lil-Sukun, Leen, and Badal, with the permitted length of each in the Hafs narration.
Each type is identified and applied in Juz Tabarak, with lengths checked in continuous recitation.
Students learn Lam Shamsiyyah and Qamariyyah, the heavy and light Lam of Allah's name, the Tafkheem and Tarqeeq of Ra in all positions, and Idgham between identical and similar letters.
The teacher reviews each rule across many ayat until it is applied without hesitation.
The final module covers the Waqf symbols of the Mushaf and how word endings change when stopping, then brings every rule together in recitation of longer Surahs.
At the close of this module, students recite unfamiliar passages with consistent Tajweed and are ready for Kalamullah's Advanced Tajweed Course.
Every outcome below is something the student can demonstrate to their Kalamullah teacher by the end of the course, not simply a topic that was covered.
Students pronounce letters that share a Makhraj or differ by one Sifah clearly and correctly.
This is assessed in live recitation of unfamiliar passages.
Students recognize Madd Muttasil, Munfasil, Lazim, 'Arid lil-Sukun, Leen, and Badal.
They hold each for its correct length in continuous recitation.
Students apply Lam Shamsiyyah and Qamariyyah and the heavy and light Lam of Allah's name.
They do so consistently without teacher prompting.
Students recite Ra as heavy or light correctly in every position.
They explain the reason for each case when asked.
Students follow the Waqf symbols of the Mushaf and change word endings correctly when stopping.
They avoid stops that break the meaning of the ayah.
Students recite longer Surahs they have not practiced with consistent Tajweed.
