HOW IT WORKS

What the Quranic Arabic Grammar Lessons Cover

Kalamullah's Quranic Arabic grammar lessons cover the Ism, Fi'l, and Harf with their signs, Mu'rab and Mabni words, the case states of Raf', Nasb, Jarr, and Jazm with their markers, the nominal sentence with Kana, Inna, and their sisters, the verbal sentence with Fa'il, Maf'ul Bihi, and Na'ib al-Fa'il, and the particles that change the mood of the present tense verb.

This course is designed for students who have completed Quran reading and recite from the Mushaf, but have never studied Nahw in a structured way.

  • Prerequisite: You can read the Quran in Arabic script; no previous grammar study needed.
  • Focus: Nahw only — word types, I’rab, nominal and verbal sentences, and phrases — in the classical order.
  • Endpoint: Full I’rab of short ayat from Juz Amma, justified rule by rule.
WHY KALAMULLAH

Why Students Choose Kalamullah to Learn Quranic Arabic Grammar

Your teacher opens each rule with a familiar ayah, guides you to spot it in passages you haven’t studied, and ends every session with ayat to analyze on your own.

1. Teachers Qualified in Nahw and Quranic Sciences

Every teacher assigned to Kalamullah's Quranic Arabic Grammar course is a native Arabic speaker with formal study in Nahw, Sarf, and Quranic sciences. Credentials are verified before assignment, so every rule is explained accurately and applied correctly to the ayat.

02

2. Learning Grammar Through the Ayat You Recite

Kalamullah's Quranic Arabic grammar lessons start from Surahs students already know, such as Al-Fatihah and Juz Amma. Familiar ayat make each new rule easier to understand and remember, because students see it in text they recite every day.

03

3. Live One-on-One Lessons With Immediate Correction

Every grammar lesson at Kalamullah is private, so the teacher hears each analysis the student gives. Errors in identifying a case, a sentence type, or a particle's effect are corrected in the moment, before they become habit.

04

4. Female Grammar Teachers for Sisters and Girls

Kalamullah provides qualified female Arabic grammar teachers for students who prefer or require a same-gender teacher. The preference is selected at registration and honored from the trial session onward, with no change to scheduling or lesson content.

05

5. A Clear Order From First Rule to Full I'rab

Kalamullah's grammar curriculum moves from word types to sentences, then to phrases and full analysis, in a fixed order. At the close of this module, students analyze short ayat independently. Students who have also studied Sarf can continue into Kalamullah’s Advanced Quranic Arabic Course; those who haven’t continue with the Sarf and vocabulary modules of the Quranic Arabic Course first.

COURSE STRUCTURE

How Kalamullah Structures the Quranic Arabic Grammar Course

Each module builds directly on the previous one, giving students a clear path from the first rule of Nahw to analyzing complete ayat on their own.

1

1. Placement Assessment and Starting Point:

The course opens with a short assessment of the student's Quran reading, vocabulary, and any previous grammar study. The teacher uses this to set a starting point that matches the student's actual level.

Students with some grammar background move faster through the opening module, while complete beginners start with word types without skipping any essential foundation.

2

2. Word Types and the Foundations of I'rab:

Students learn to distinguish the Ism, Fi'l, and Harf by their signs, then study Mu'rab and Mabni words and the four case states. The markers of each state, the Harakat and the letters that replace them, are identified in Quranic ayat.

By the end of this module, students explain why a word in a familiar ayah carries a Dammah, Fathah, or Kasrah.

3

3. The Nominal Sentence and Its Modifiers:

The teacher introduces the Mubtada and Khabar, then Kana and its sisters and Inna and its sisters, showing how each changes the case of the sentence. Every structure is located and analyzed in real ayat.

Students practice identifying the parts of nominal sentences across different Surahs until the rules are applied consistently.

4

4. The Verbal Sentence and Verb Moods:

Students study the Fa'il, Maf'ul Bihi, and Na'ib al-Fa'il, then the particles that make the present tense verb Mansub or Majzum. Each particle is traced through its uses in the Quran.

The teacher reviews each rule across multiple passages before introducing the next, so the student never confuses the roles of words in a verbal sentence.

5

5. Phrases and Full I'rab of Short Ayat:

The final module covers Harf al-Jarr, Idafah, and Na't, then brings every rule together in full I'rab of short ayat from Juz Amma. Students give the role and case of every word and justify each decision.

At the close of this module, students analyze short ayat independently and have the foundation needed to continue into Kalamullah's advanced Quranic Arabic course.

What You’ll Achieve

What Students Achieve in the Quranic Arabic Grammar Course

Every outcome below is something the student can demonstrate to their Kalamullah teacher by the end of the Quranic Arabic Grammar course, not simply a topic that was covered during sessions.

Classify Every Word in an Ayah:

Students identify each word in an ayah as an Ism, Fi'l, or Harf using its grammatical signs.

This is assessed in live analysis of ayat the student has not studied in advance.

Identify Case States and Their Markers:

Students state whether a word is Marfu', Mansub, Majrur, or Majzum.

They name the marker that shows the case, whether a Harakah or a replacing letter.

Analyze Nominal Sentences Correctly:

Students identify the Mubtada and Khabar in Quranic nominal sentences.

They explain how Kana, Inna, and their sisters change the case of each part.

Analyze Verbal Sentences Correctly:

Students identify the Fa'il, Maf'ul Bihi, and Na'ib al-Fa'il in verbal sentences from the Mushaf.

They distinguish active from passive structures without teacher prompting.

Explain the Effect of Particles on Verbs:

Students identify the particles that make a present tense verb Mansub or Majzum.

They explain the change each particle causes as it appears in the ayat.

Perform Full I'rab of Short Ayat:

Students give the grammatical role and case of every word in a short ayah from Juz Amma.

This full I'rab is the measurable endpoint of the Quranic Arabic Grammar course at Kalamullah.
