COURSE STRUCTURE

How Kalamullah Structures the Quranic Arabic Course for Adults

Each module builds directly on the previous one, giving adult learners a clear path from their first Quranic root to understanding the ayat of Salah directly in Arabic.

1

1. Goal Setting and Placement Assessment:

The course opens with a conversation about the student's goal, whether understanding Salah, following Tafseer, or reading the Quran with meaning, and a short check of their reading and existing vocabulary.

The teacher uses both to build a personal learning plan, so every module is taught with the student's goal in mind.

2

2. Roots, Patterns, and Core Quranic Vocabulary:

Students learn how Arabic words are built from three-letter roots and a small set of common patterns. Core vocabulary from Al-Fatihah, Juz Amma, and the adhkar of Salah is taught through these roots and patterns.

By the end of this module, adults recognize families of related words in the Mushaf and work out the meaning of new words from their root.

3

3. Pronouns, Particles, and Building Blocks:

The teacher introduces attached and detached pronouns, demonstratives, prepositions, and the key particles of negation, question, and emphasis. Each is identified directly in the ayat.

Students see how these small words change and connect meaning, and practice recognizing them across different Surahs.

4

4. Verbs and Sentence Structure:

Students study the past, present, and command verb with their pronoun endings, then the structure of nominal and verbal sentences. Every example is taken from the Quran.

The teacher reviews each point across several passages before moving on, so adults build a clear system rather than a set of disconnected rules.

5

5. Applied Understanding of Salah and Selected Surahs:

The final module brings every skill together. Students read the ayat and adhkar of Salah and selected Surahs, explaining the meaning of each word and how the sentence is built.

At the close of this module, adults understand what they recite in prayer and have the foundation needed to continue into Kalamullah’s Quranic Arabic Course, Quranic Arabic Grammar Course or Tafseer courses.

What You’ll Achieve

What Adults Achieve in the Quranic Arabic Course

Every outcome below is something the adult student can demonstrate to their Kalamullah teacher by the end of the course, not simply a topic that was covered during sessions.

Understand the Words of Daily Salah:

Students explain the meaning of Al-Fatihah and the adhkar recited in Salah word by word. This is assessed in live reading, without the student looking at a translation.

Work Out Meaning From Roots and Patterns:

Students identify the root and pattern of a Quranic word they have not studied before. They use both to explain the word's general meaning correctly.

Recognize Pronouns and Key Particles:

Students identify pronouns, demonstratives, and particles of negation, question, and emphasis in the ayat.

They explain how each one affects the meaning of the passage.

Identify Verbs and Who Is Acting:

Students distinguish past, present, and command verbs in Quranic text.

They identify who is doing the action from the verb's pronoun ending.

Explain How an Ayah Is Built:

Students identify whether an ayah uses a nominal or verbal sentence.

They explain the role of its main parts in the meaning, verified by the teacher in live discussion.

Read Selected Surahs With Understanding:

Students read selected Surahs aloud and explain their meaning directly from the Arabic.

This applied understanding is the measurable endpoint of the adult course at Kalamullah.
