View courseKalamullah’s online Quran Qirat course takes students from the principles of Ilm al-Qira’at through the Usul and Farsh of each narration, building step by step toward reciting the Quran in the ten authentic Qira’at transmitted from the Prophet ﷺ.
6–9Kalamullah's online Quran Qirat classes cover the ten Imams of recitation and their twenty narrators, the difference between Usul al-Qira'at and Farsh al-Huruf, and the rules each narration applies to Madd, Hamz, Imalah, Idgham, and Ya'at al-Idafah, studied through the Shatibiyyah and Al-Durrah al-Mudiyyah before moving to full recitation from the Mushaf.
This Qirat course is designed for students who have completed Tajweed, ideally at the advanced level, and recite accurately in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim, but have never studied another narration.
Kalamullah teaches the online Quran Qirat course through a fixed, narration-by-narration sequence under teachers who hold Ijazah in the Qira'at. Your teacher recites each rule first, then listens as you apply it in the Mushaf, correcting every error in Usul or Farsh the moment it occurs.
Every teacher assigned to Kalamullah's Qirat course holds an Ijazah in the Qira'at with a connected chain of transmission. Credentials are verified before assignment, so each narration is taught exactly as it was received from a certified teacher.
Mixing the rules of two narrations is the most common error for new Qirat students. Kalamullah's online Quran Qirat classes prevent this by completing one narration, assessing it in full recitation, and only then introducing the next reading.
Every Qirat lesson at Kalamullah is private, so the teacher hears each word the student recites. Errors in Imalah, Madd length, Hamz, or Farsh differences are corrected immediately, before they become part of the student's recitation.
Kalamullah provides qualified female Qirat teachers for students who prefer or require a same-gender teacher. The preference is selected at registration and honored from the trial session onward, with no change to scheduling or lesson content.
Kalamullah's Qirat curriculum moves from foundations to individual narrations, then to the ten readings in a fixed order. When comparing the best online Qirat learning programs, look for exactly this: a fixed path where no stage is skipped and every narration is assessed before the next one begins.

The course opens with an assessment of the student's recitation in Hafs 'an 'Asim, covering Tajweed accuracy, Makharij, Madd lengths, and Waqf. The teacher confirms the student's foundation is strong enough to begin a second narration.
Students who need further Tajweed correction receive targeted sessions first, since every Qirat rule is built on accurate Hafs recitation.
Students learn the history of the Qira'at, the conditions of an authentic reading, and the ten Imams with their twenty narrators. The difference between Usul, the general rules of a narration, and Farsh al-Huruf, word-specific differences, is made clear here.
This framework allows the student to understand why each difference exists before applying it, rather than memorizing variations without context.
The student begins with one narration, usually Shu’bah ‘an ‘Asim, or another chosen by the teacher such as Qalun or Warsh ‘an Nafi’, and studies its Usul in full: Madd, Hamz, Imalah, Idgham, and Ya’at al-Idafah.
The teacher assesses the narration across complete Surahs before marking it consolidated, ensuring the student recites it independently and without falling back into Hafs.
Word-by-word differences between the readings are studied Surah by Surah using the verses of the Shatibiyyah and Al-Durrah al-Mudiyyah. Students learn which Imam reads each word in which way, and why.
Each new narration is added using the same method, gradually building the student's command of the seven readings of the Shatibiyyah and the three completing readings of the Durrah.
In the final module, students practice Jam', reciting a passage in multiple narrations in the correct sequence. The teacher assesses accuracy, fluency, and consistency across all narrations studied.
Students who meet the required standard may continue toward an Ijazah in the narrations they have completed, recited in full before their Kalamullah teacher.
Every outcome below is something the student can demonstrate to their Kalamullah teacher by the end of the Qirat course, not simply a topic that was covered during sessions
Students recite complete Surahs in at least one narration beyond Hafs, applying its Usul consistently without teacher prompting.
This is assessed in live recitation across passages the student has not practiced in advance.
Students name each of the ten Imams of recitation and their two narrators.
They explain which readings belong to the Shatibiyyah and which are completed by Al-Durrah al-Mudiyyah.
Students explain the difference between a narration's general rules and its word-specific differences.
They classify any difference they meet in recitation as belonging to Usul or Farsh correctly.
Students produce Imalah, Madd lengths, and Hamz treatment exactly as each studied narration requires.
They switch between narrations without carrying one narration's rules into another.
Students identify word-level differences between readings as they appear in the Surahs studied.
They state which Imam reads each word in which way, supported by the relevant verse of the Shatibiyyah or Durrah.
Students recite a passage using Jam', moving between the studied narrations in the correct sequence.
This combined recitation is the measurable endpoint of the Qirat course at Kalamullah.

Students should recite fluently in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim with sound Tajweed before starting. Those who need further Tajweed work are advised to complete Kalamullah’s Tajweed or Advanced Tajweed course first.
Memorization is not required to begin the online Quran Qirat classes. It does make studying Farsh differences easier, and teachers may require it for certain Ijazah paths.
If you recite the Mushaf in Hafs without regular Tajweed errors, you are ready to begin. Your free trial includes a short recitation assessment to confirm your starting point.
Most students begin with Shu’bah ‘an ‘Asim, since it shares the same Imam as Hafs and differs from it in fewer places. Your teacher confirms the first narration after your placement assessment.
