Fiqh Course for New Muslims

Before Islam, no one asked whether your food was halal, when you needed to pray, or whether your clothes were suitable for Salah. Now these questions come every day, at family dinners, at work, and while travelling, and not knowing the answers can make practice feel heavy.

Kalamullah's Fiqh course for new Muslims teaches the rulings you need in the order you need them, with the ease and concessions Islam gives, so worship becomes natural rather than stressful.

HOW IT WORKS

What the Fiqh Course for New Muslims Covers

The course begins with the Ghusl taken on entering Islam and the rulings of Wudu and what breaks it. Students then learn how to perform Salah and pray at work, school, or while traveling, along with the concessions for difficulty and illness.

The course continues with the rulings of fasting in Ramadan, halal food and eating with non-Muslim family, dress and modesty, and common questions about daily life, each taught with its evidence and a practical example.

  • Purification and Prayer: Ghusl, Wudu, and Salah, with how to pray at work, at school, and while traveling.
  • Your First Ramadan: The rulings of fasting, the concessions for illness and travel, and a practical plan for fasting alongside non-Muslim family.
  • Halal Living: Food, eating with family, dress, and the everyday questions new Muslims ask most.
WHY KALAMULLAH

COURSE STRUCTURE

How the Fiqh Course for New Muslims Is Structured

The course follows the order of what new Muslims need most, starting with purification and prayer.

1

1. Getting to Know Your Situation:

The course opens with a relaxed conversation about the student's daily life, family, work, and the questions they have about practicing Islam.

The teacher uses this to choose the practical examples that will be used throughout the course.

2

2. Purification: Ghusl and Wudu:

Students learn the Ghusl taken on entering Islam, how to perform Wudu, what breaks it, and the concessions for difficulty, such as wiping over leather socks (Khuffs) and Tayammum, with the teacher explaining when ordinary socks may also be wiped according to the student’s madhhab.

3

3. Salah in Daily Life:

The teacher covers how to pray, prayer times, praying at work, school, or while travelling, shortening and combining when travelling, and what to do if a prayer is missed.

Students plan how to fit Salah into their own daily routine.

4

4. Fasting and the First Ramadan:

Students study the rulings of fasting, what breaks the fast, the concessions for illness and travel, and how to manage Ramadan with non-Muslim family and at work.

The teacher helps the student prepare a practical plan for their Ramadan.

5

5. Halal Living and Daily Questions:

The final unit covers halal food and eating with family, dress and modesty, and common questions new Muslims face in daily life.

At the close of this unit, students practice with confidence and can continue into Kalamullah's full Fiqh Course.
