Live one-to-one lesson example.
Kalamullah’s Madinah Arabic Course lets students worldwide learn Madinah Arabic through the well-known three-book series by Dr. V. Abdur Rahim, also known as the Medina Arabic method. In live one-on-one classes with qualified tutors, students work through the books systematically, from the first lesson of Book 1 to the advanced grammar of Book 3.
6–9The course follows the three-book series Durus al-Lughah al-‘Arabiyyah, written by Dr. V. Abdur Rahim and taught at the Islamic University of Madinah. Abdur-Raheem. Sessions address Arabic grammar, vocabulary, reading, sentence construction, and classical text comprehension through live instruction with qualified tutors.
Students who cannot yet read Arabic script begin with a short introductory stage on the letters and vowel marks before starting Book 1. Students who have completed earlier books join at the right book and chapter.
Kalamullah pairs each student with a tutor trained specifically in the Madinah Arabic method, ensuring the three-book progression is taught the way it was designed, not adapted or abbreviated.
Kalamullah tutors hold formal qualifications in teaching Arabic and are assessed on their command of the Madinah books before being assigned to students on this course.
Every Madinah Arabic class runs as a private session, allowing the tutor to move at the student's pace, revisit chapters where more practice is needed, and focus correction precisely where errors occur, rather than moving on with a group.
Female students and families who prefer a female instructor for the Madinah Arabic Course can request one at enrollment. Kalamullah maintains a roster of qualified female Arabic tutors available across multiple session time slots.
Kalamullah books Madinah Arabic sessions across morning, afternoon, and evening slots seven days a week. Students in any time zone, including those working standard business hours, can find a regular session time that does not conflict with work or school.
The Kalamullah Madinah Arabic course follows Books 1, 2, and 3 as authored by Dr. V. Abdur-Raheem, the same texts used at the Islamic University of Madinah. Students build grammar and vocabulary from the source material, not from a modified version of it.

Book a free trialEach phase of the Madinah Arabic Course builds directly on the one before, following the three-book progression in a structured sequence of live sessions.
Students who are new to Arabic script first learn all 28 letters in their positional forms, along with Harakat, Tanween, Madd, Sukun, and Shaddah, before opening Book 1.
Students who already read Arabic skip this stage and start Book 1 directly.
Book 1 introduces nominal sentences, pronouns, gender, definiteness, and basic verb conjugation through short dialogues and exercises drawn from the original text. The tutor explains each grammatical concept in English before students apply it in written and spoken practice.
Vocabulary in Book 1 focuses on everyday life, the masjid, the classroom, and the home, giving students words they can use and recognize immediately
Book 2 expands verb patterns, introduces broken plurals, dual forms, relative clauses, and conditional sentences. Students read longer passages and complete written exercises that the tutor reviews and corrects within the same session, providing immediate feedback on grammar accuracy.
By the end of Book 2, students can analyze the structure of longer sentences and begin recognizing these patterns in Quranic and Hadith texts.
Book 3 covers advanced morphology, verb derivation patterns, and classical prose reading. Sessions at this stage include excerpts from Arabic literature and Islamic scholarship, building the student's ability to read unvowelized Fusha texts with comprehension rather than letter-by-letter decoding.
Book 3 covers advanced morphology, the derived verb forms, and more complex sentences in longer reading passages. Students build the foundation needed to move on to classical texts and lightly voweled reading.
At regular intervals across all three books, the tutor conducts structured oral and written review sessions covering grammar rules, vocabulary lists, and reading passages from completed chapters. These sessions identify gaps before they accumulate and decide which areas to reinforce before moving forward.
Students who complete all three books receive a record of completion showing the chapters covered and the level demonstrated in their assessments.
Every outcome below is a skill the student can demonstrate at the end of the relevant Madinah Arabic book, not simply a topic that has been introduced in class.
Students read fully vowelized Arabic text aloud, identifying every letter in all four positional forms and applying Harakaat, Tanween, Madd, Shaddah, and Jazam correctly without prompting from the tutor.
Students produce grammatically correct Arabic nominal sentences using gender agreement, definiteness markers, and the correct pronoun forms, matching the sentence patterns drilled in Madinah Arabic Book 1.
Students conjugate regular and common irregular Arabic verbs in past, present, and command forms across singular, dual, and plural, applying the patterns introduced across Books 1 and 2 of the Madinah Arabic method.
Students identify and translate hundreds of words that recur throughout the Quran and hadith literature, drawn from the vocabulary lists embedded across all three Madinah Arabic books, without relying on a dictionary or translation aid.
Students read and parse unvowelized Fusha passages from Islamic texts, identifying subject, predicate, verb, and object and explaining the grammatical function of each element at the level covered in Madinah Arabic Book 3.
Students apply Arabic root-and-pattern morphology to derive related words from a three-letter root, identify verb forms by their pattern, and explain how derivation changes meaning, using the framework developed through the Book 3 curriculum.
