An Ijazah is more than a Tajweed certificate. It is a teacher's formal testimony that you recite the Quran exactly as it was received, generation after generation, in an unbroken chain reaching back to the Prophet ﷺ.
Kalamullah’s Tajweed Ijazah program gives serious students the path to join that chain: a full recitation of the Quran in the Hafs ʿan ʿAsim narration, heard and corrected word by word by a Sheikh or Sheikha who holds the chain.
6–9The Tajweed Ijazah course centers on one requirement: reciting the entire Quran, from Al-Fatihah to An-Nas, before a certified Kalamullah Sheikh with full Tajweed.
Alongside the recitation, students memorize and review the Muqaddimah al-Jazariyyah, correct any remaining fine errors in Sifat, Madd, and Waqf, and complete a final assessment before the Ijazah and its Sanad are issued.
An Ijazah is only as trustworthy as the teacher who grants it and the standard behind it. Kalamullah assigns every Ijazah student to a Sheikh with a verified chain, and never shortens the full recitation that the Ijazah requires.
Every teacher assigned to the Ijazah program holds an Ijazah in Hafs 'an 'Asim with a connected chain of transmission. Kalamullah verifies each Sheikh's Ijazah and Sanad before they are approved to certify students.
During the full recitation, the Sheikh listens to every word and stops the student at any error in Makhraj, Sifah, Madd, or Waqf. A passage is only accepted when it is recited correctly.
Every Ijazah session at Kalamullah is private, so the full attention of the Sheikh is on your recitation. The pace of the Khatmah is agreed together, based on your level and availability.
Kalamullah provides female Ijazah-holding teachers for sisters who prefer or require a same-gender teacher. The preference is confirmed at registration and honored throughout the entire program.
Kalamullah does not issue a Tajweed certificate for attendance or partial recitation. The Ijazah is granted only after the full Khatmah and final assessment are completed at the required standard.

Book a free trialThe program moves through five clear stages, from confirming readiness to receiving the Ijazah and its Sanad.
The program opens with the student reciting selected passages from different parts of the Quran. The Sheikh assesses accuracy, consistency, and command of advanced rules.
Students who are ready begin the recitation directly, while those with remaining gaps receive a short correction plan first.
Any remaining fine errors in Sifat, Madd lengths, Tafkheem, or Waqf are corrected, and key verses of the Muqaddimah al-Jazariyyah are reviewed with the Sheikh.
This stage ensures the student begins the full recitation with no known recurring errors.
The student recites the entire Quran before the Sheikh, portion by portion, from Al-Fatihah to An-Nas. Every word is heard, and any error is corrected before the passage is accepted.
The pace is agreed with the Sheikh, and progress through each Juz is recorded session by session.
After the Khatmah is complete, the Sheikh conducts a final assessment, testing recitation from different parts of the Quran and questions on the rules of Tajweed.
The student must meet the standard in both recitation and knowledge before the Ijazah is approved.
Students who pass the final assessment receive their Ijazah in the Hafs 'an 'Asim narration, with the documented Sanad connecting them through their Sheikh to the Prophet ﷺ.
Graduates may continue into Kalamullah's Qirat course to study additional narrations.
Every outcome below is something the student demonstrates to their Kalamullah Sheikh before the Ijazah is granted, not simply a stage that was attended.
Students complete a full recitation of the Quran before their Sheikh.
Every passage is accepted only after it is recited without error.
Students apply every rule of Sifat, Madd, Idgham, Hamzah, and Tafkheem across the whole Quran.
Their accuracy holds in every Juz, not only in familiar passages.
Students apply correct Waqf, Ibtida, and the Sakt positions of Hafs across the entire recitation.
No stop or start changes the meaning of an ayah.
Students answer the Sheikh's questions on the rules of Tajweed during the final assessment.
They support their answers with the Muqaddimah al-Jazariyyah.
Students recite selected passages from across the Quran to the required standard in the final assessment.
The Sheikh confirms both recitation and knowledge meet the Ijazah standard.
Students receive their Ijazah in Hafs 'an 'Asim with a documented chain of transmission.
This Ijazah is the measurable endpoint of the program at Kalamullah.

A quick answer to the questions that come up most often before someone books their first trial class — a mix of questions specific to this course and questions about the academy as a whole.
Your recitation should already be accurate and consistent at an advanced level. Students who are not yet there are advised to complete Kalamullah's Advanced Tajweed Course first.
If you recite unfamiliar passages with advanced Tajweed and no recurring errors, you may be ready. Your free placement session includes a recitation assessment from different parts of the Quran.
The value of an Ijazah comes from the Sheikh’s own chain and the full recitation, not the location. Many scholars accept a complete Khatmah heard live online, and Kalamullah’s Sheikhs hold connected Sanads and hear every word in real time.
It depends on your level and how much you recite each session. Most students complete the Khatmah in [X to Y months]. The exact pace is agreed with your Sheikh after the readiness assessment.
