Live one-to-one lesson example.
Kalamullah’s Quran Reading Course for New Muslims gives reverts and converts worldwide a clear, patient path from the first Arabic letter to reading the Quran. You learn letter recognition, the Noorani Qaida, correct pronunciation and foundational Tajweed in live one-on-one sessions scheduled around your life.
Every lesson begins at your actual starting point. Whether you have never seen an Arabic letter before or can already recognize a few words, Kalamullah places you with a tutor whose pace, language, and teaching method match where you are right now, not where a fixed syllabus assumes you should be.
6–9The Quran Reading Course for New Muslims at Kalamullah moves through Arabic letter recognition and correct pronunciation, the Noorani Qaida’s vowel signs, joining letters into words, and finally reading Quranic verses, in a sequence built for adults who are learning Quran as a convert with no prior Arabic background.
Lessons are conducted entirely in English, so students learning Quran as a convert never need a second language to follow the instruction. Absolute beginners are welcome. Every level from zero Arabic to early independent recitation is supported within the same enrollment pathway.
Kalamullah pairs every convert student with a tutor trained to teach Quran reading to adults who are starting Arabic from zero, removing the assumption that prior exposure exists.
Kalamullah tutors hold verified Ijazah in Quran recitation under the Hafs reading. Their pronunciation authority comes from direct chains of transmission, not self-study, which matters when a convert is building first-time recitation habits.
Every Quran Reading Course for New Muslims session is live and private. No recordings substituted for instruction. The tutor listens to the student's recitation in real time and corrects Makharij errors before they become fixed habits.
Kalamullah maintains a full roster of qualified female tutors for female students who prefer to learn Quran reading for new Muslims with a Sheikha. Requests are honored at enrollment with no waiting period.
Quran classes for new Muslims are available across all major time zones, from early morning before the work day to late evening after family commitments. Students select their preferred slot at booking and can adjust it as their routine changes.
The Quran Reading Course for New Muslims does not rush students into verse reading before their letter recognition is solid. Kalamullah holds each student at the Noorani Qaida and letter-joining stage until the tutor confirms readiness, protecting recitation accuracy long term.

Students learn all 28 Arabic letters in their isolated, initial, medial and final forms, together with each letter’s correct sound and articulation point (Makharij). The tutor trains both the eye and the ear, so letters that look or sound alike are told apart accurately from the start.
Short daily practice exercises are assigned between sessions to reinforce what was covered live, building memory through repetition rather than cramming.
Once letters are recognized, Kalamullah introduces the Noorani Qaida sequence. Students work through Harakaat, Tanween, Madd, Jazam, and Shaddah in the order the Qaida presents them, with the tutor modeling each sign aloud before the student reads.
Correction is immediate. When a vowel sign changes a sound, the tutor demonstrates the difference side by side so the student hears the contrast rather than guessing.
Students practice connecting Arabic letters into complete words. The tutor selects short Quranic words that use the letter combinations already covered, so every reading exercise is drawn from authentic Quran text.
Fluency is built gently across sessions. Speed is never the goal at this stage; smooth, accurate joining without hesitation is what the tutor tracks and reports.
Basic Tajweed rules enter once the student reads words reliably. Kalamullah introduces Ghunnah, Qalqalah and the Noon Sakinah and Tanween rules, including Ikhfaa, through actual verses the student reads aloud during each session.
No rule is introduced in isolation. Every Tajweed point is anchored to a specific verse the student has just read, so the rule has immediate context and the student hears how it changes their recitation.
Students begin reading complete short surahs, starting with those recited in daily Salah, and learn where to pause and stop (Waqf) at the end of each verse. The tutor assesses pronunciation letter by letter before signing off each surah as ready for independent use in prayer.
Each outcome below is a verifiable skill the student can demonstrate to their tutor before advancing. Nothing is marked complete until the tutor has heard it read correctly in session.
The student identifies all 28 Arabic letters in isolated, initial, medial, and final positions without prompting. They distinguish commonly confused pairs such as ba, ta, and tha by sight and by sound.
The student reads all Noorani Qaida exercises aloud including Harakaat, Tanween, Madd, and Shaddah at a steady pace, applying each vowel sign correctly before advancing to Quranic text.
The student applies Ghunnah, Qalqalah and the Noon Sakinah and Tanween rules, including Ikhfaa, correctly while reading Quran text in session. Each rule is applied without cue, showing it has been understood rather than memorized.
The student applies Ghunnah, Ikhfaa, Qalqalah, and the rules of Noon Sakinah correctly while reading Quran text in session. Each rule is applied without cue, demonstrating internalized understanding rather than memorized recall.
The student reads Surah Al-Fatihah and a selection of short Surahs from Juz Amma correctly and independently. The tutor has assessed and approved each Surah for use in daily Salah before signing it off.
The student recites without halting at letter-joining points, reads at a measured pace with correct Waqf stops, and self-corrects audible mistakes mid-verse rather than requiring tutor intervention for every error.
