Live one-to-one lesson example.
Kalamullah’s beginner Quran reading course takes students from the Arabic alphabet through joined letters, vowel marks, Madd, Sukoon and Shaddah, all the way to confident reading directly from the Mushaf. Its clear, progressive structure makes sure every student builds a strong foundation from the very first lesson.
Students of all ages are welcome, from children taking their first steps with the Arabic letters to adults opening the Mushaf for the first time. No prior background is required: every student starts at the alphabet and moves forward only when each stage is solid.
6–9Kalamullah’s beginner Quran reading course follows the Noorani Qaida sequence, moving students through the Arabic alphabet and correct Makharij, joined letter forms, short vowels and Tanween, Madd letters, Sukoon, Shaddah and Qalqalah before progressing to direct Mushaf reading practice.
Every lesson is delivered in English, so the course is fully accessible to students who have never seen Arabic script. Children aged five and above and adults with no prior reading experience can both enroll, making it a natural place to learn Quran reading for beginners of any age.
Kalamullah teaches quran reading for beginners through a fixed, tutor-corrected sequence that prevents mispronunciation from becoming habit before a single letter is joined.
Kalamullah selects tutors with verified Ijazah in Quran recitation under the Hafs transmission. Each tutor demonstrates accurate Makharij before assignment, so students learning the Arabic alphabet for the first time receive correct pronunciation modeled from the first session.
Group classes can’t catch individual errors in letter production. Every beginner class is one-to-one, with the tutor listening and correcting in the moment, before a mispronounced letter is repeated often enough to become a habit.
Kalamullah provides qualified female tutors for female students who prefer or require a same-gender teacher. Families enrolling daughters in the beginner Quran reading course can request a female tutor at the point of registration, with no change to scheduling or lesson content.
Kalamullah accepts bookings across all time zones, seven days a week, with early morning and late evening slots available. Whether a student is attending school during the day or working full-time, the beginner Quran reading course fits around existing commitments rather than competing with them.
Kalamullah's beginner curriculum follows the Noorani Qaida sequence in a fixed order, covering every letter, vowel mark, and joining rule before any Mushaf reading begins. Students move to the next stage only after the tutor confirms the current stage is solid, not simply completed.

Book a free trialEach stage follows the Noorani Qaida order, so no student moves to Mushaf reading before their letter foundations are confirmed. It’s the most reliable way to learn to read Quran for beginners: one confirmed step at a time.
The beginner Quran reading course opens with the Arabic alphabet. Each of the twenty-eight letters is introduced with its correct Makharij articulation point, covering where in the mouth or throat the sound is produced.
The tutor drills each letter individually before any combination work begins. A letter learned incorrectly at this stage will sound wrong in every word it ever appears in, so Kalamullah invests full sessions here before advancing.
Arabic letters change shape depending on their position within a word. Following the Noorani Qaida order, the tutor teaches the initial, medial and final forms of each letter, then drills the student on recognizing letters inside joined combinations.
By the end of this stage, students can pick out any letter within a connected word, which makes vowelized reading in the next stage far smoother.
Once joined forms are secure, the tutor introduces the Harakaat — Fathah, Kasrah and Dammah — the vowel marks that give each letter its sound in a word. Each is taught individually before the Tanween forms are added.
Students practice reading two- and three-letter combinations at this stage, building the speed and recognition that make connected reading possible without sounding out every letter.
Next come the Madd letters that lengthen a vowel, Sukoon for letters read without a vowel, and Shaddah for letters that are doubled. Each is practiced in Noorani Qaida exercises until the student applies it correctly without prompting.
Qalqalah letters receive specific attention, because their echo quality is one of the features new readers miss most often.
With every Qaida stage confirmed, the student moves to reading short surahs from Juz Amma aloud while the tutor listens and corrects in real time. Progress is measured by what the student can read unaided, not by pages covered, and any letter or rule that shows weakness is revisited before moving on.
At the close of this stage, students read selected surahs from the Mushaf independently and accurately, with the foundation needed to move on to a dedicated Tajweed course.
Every outcome below describes something the student can demonstrate in a live session, not simply a topic that was covered during the course.
Students can produce all twenty-eight Arabic letters from their correct articulation points, distinguishing between letters with similar sounds that differ in throat, mouth or lip position, verified by the tutor in reading aloud.
Students read Fathah, Kasrah, Dammah, and all Tanween forms correctly on sight, sounding out voweled text without pausing to decode each mark, demonstrated through timed reading drills on Noorani Qaida pages.
Students identify the initial, medial, and final forms of every Arabic letter as they appear in connected Mushaf text, reading words without needing to isolate each letter before sounding the word out.
Students read letters carrying Sukoon without adding a vowel, and double the sound on Shaddah letters, consistently across new and unseen text without the tutor needing to prompt the rule mid-reading.
Students extend Madd letters to the correct length and produce the Qalqalah echo on the five Qalqalah letters wherever they appear with Sukoon, demonstrated in direct Mushaf reading from Juz Amma without tutor prompting.
Students read selected surahs from Juz Amma aloud, unaided, with accurate letter production and vowel marks. This is the measurable endpoint of the course.

Yes. Kalamullah’s beginner Quran reading course assumes zero prior knowledge…
Children aged five and above are accepted into the beginner Quran reading course. Younger learners receive shorter, age-paced sessions, while older children and adults follow the same letter sequence at a faster rate.
Yes, if you can’t yet read vowelized words smoothly. Your tutor checks your reading in the trial session; if you can already read from the Mushaf with only occasional mistakes, the Quran Reading Course or a Tajweed course will usually be a better fit.
Kalamullah provides qualified female tutors for the beginner Quran reading course. A preference for a female tutor is confirmed at registration and matched before the trial session is booked.
Sessions can be rescheduled with reasonable notice, in line with Kalamullah’s rescheduling policy.
Progress is tracked by what the student can read unaided in a live session, not by pages completed. Tutors note which letters and rules are solid and revisit any that show inconsistency before advancing the student.
