About the Teacher

A Teacher Shaped by the Classical Tradition

Amira Mordy Okasha graduated in 2010 from the Faculty of Arts, Oriental Languages Department, Cairo University — a background in how languages are structured, learned and taught.

She spent a year teaching English before turning to Quran instruction, and that training still shapes her lessons: she treats recitation as a skill built through listening, imitation and steady correction rather than memorizing instructions.

She currently teaches Quran to native Arabic speakers and is continuing her own study of Tajweed in English, deepening the rules behind the recitation she teaches.

“Read slowly. The verse you rush through today is the one you will have to relearn tomorrow.”

Teaching

From English to Quran

One year teaching English, followed by a move into Quran instruction — bringing a language teacher's method to recitation.

What to Expect

Her Way of Teaching

Three habits that shape every lesson she gives.

Listen first

Every lesson opens with the student reciting, so the correction lands on the actual mistake instead of a general rule.

Correct clearly

The correction is demonstrated out loud, then repeated back by the student before moving on.

Repeat with purpose

Focused repetition on the one point being fixed, continued until it holds without a reminder.
